Dr Shaam Shamsi

Shaam Shamsi has been a GDP for 30 years and works in the heart of Staffordshire in the Midlands. He has been involved with Foundation Training involved as a TPD since 2008 with NHS England Midlands running the Stoke & Stafford Scheme. His main passion lies in the teaching and educational side of Dentistry having a background in the Medico-Legal side of the profession. He lectures for many dental institutions across the country.

His other roles include examining for the faculties, as one of the Leads for the ORE at the Eastman and working for the CQC as a Specialist Advisor.

In 2021, Shaam set up the first ever Certificate in Dental Risk Mitigation with a colleague, an online 12 month course that equips clinicians with the ammunition to become risk averse. Core areas include Communication with Treatment Planning, Record Keeping & Photography, Ethics & Consent. The course is Eduqual approved.

Shaam was awarded a double Fellowship by the College of General Dentistry and the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2022.

Outside the profession, he is blessed with a wife and 3 children, and enjoys travelling fitness and improving his culinary skills !
