Dr Shilpa Shah

Shilpa qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2010. She successfully graduate her Diploma of the membership of the Joint Dental Faculties at the Royal college of Surgeons of England.
Since graduation she has worked in a range of hospitals across Birmingham and Manchester as an oral surgery and maxillofacial senior house officer, broadening her experience in complex oral surgery, dental emergencies and head and neck trauma.
She has continued postgraduate training within community and dental hospitals across a range of specialties including special care, oral surgery and paediatric dentistry. Followed by 18 months of Restorative dentistry working closely with a range of consultants in Manchester Dental Hospital and publishing two articles in UK dental journals.
She is involved in post graduate training and has successfully achieved a masters degree in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics awarded by the University of Manchester where she continues to work with a special interest in conscious sedation as a Specialty dentist. Passionate about maintaining services of Dental Sedation, she also works part-time in private practice and is director and lead sedationist of a mobile sedation service across the UK for adults and children named ‘Dental Sedation Solutions’. She maintains current knowledge and skills in sedation, lecturing on the subject and sits on the Board of Trustees for SAAD (Society of the Advancement of Anaesthesiology in Dentistry).
Shilpa is passionate about patient education and the prevention of oral diseases, she offers a range of treatments with a conservative approach. Her special interest lies in the management of dental anxiety and treatment under sedation in addition to the management of temporomandibular (jaw joint) disorders.
